The Pinellas Suncoast Sanctuary is a registered
501(c)3 Charitable organization. All monetary donations are tax
deductible.
Currently we have approximately 100 of all sizes
that we
are caring for in a residential neighborhood. As you can imagine,
it gets a little noisy when they all try and talk/squawk at once.
Our
neighbors have been nice and haven't complained, but as more and more
birds have come to the sanctuary it has become very apparent we will
soon need a new home.
We want to keep the sanctuary here in Pinellas
County and are currently looking for property to purchase.
However, that must go hand in hand with fund raising efforts

From birds born here at the
sanctuary to those who have come here for whatever reason, they all
find safe housing, supervised interaction, nutritionally balanced diets
and proper medical care.
When necessary, behavior therapy modification is afforded to help our
friends be comfortable in their new surroundings.

Please note that we do not engage in any
planed breeding, but occasionally nature has its' own way of
winning out.

To give some idea of the expenses involved for just feeding, these
birds eat almost 3 pound thirty-five bags of food a week,
at a cost
of $56 a bag. Yes, you could buy food for less but it would not
provide the necessary elements for a healthy diet. With
over 100 birds now depending on us, all donations is graciously
accepted.
Sponsor a Bird

Keeping and caring for one of these fellows is a full time job that few
can really dedicate to. That said, another option is our "Sponsor
a Bird" program. For a donation of
$50.00 a month, you can sponsor any of our larger birds. We will be
setting up a web page acknowledging sponsors and will send you with a
photo of your feathered friend with all of his/her information.
Our smaller parrot family can be sponsored for as little as $25.00 a
month. You can also come visit with your "friend" and help make their
life more complete. Check out our family
photos to see if there is someone you'd like to help. The
monies you donate will make sure that they have the best food and
medical care money can but and it will make a big difference to them.
