Here in Pinellas County, there are
few places
for
bird owners to turn
to when
they were forced by circumstances to
find a new home for their
friends or consider a parrot rescue as
an option.
Some owners didn't realize the
huge amount of
time
that caring for a feathered friend
requires. Others didn't
realize
the long life span their birds could
have when cared for
properly.
Still others had changes in their
family
situations, marriage, children,
relocating for a new career
position. The road of life is
full of bumps and many of them are
unforeseen.
The Pinellas Suncoast Parrot
Sanctuary, can
help in such situations by providing
an avian sanctuary where you can
be assured
that your companion will fit in.

Old Age
Parrots
Birds
can
have
very long lives when they
receive proper care.
In many cases,
they outlive their
owners. When this
happens, families may not be
able to handle the
responsibility of a large
bird such as an amazon,
cockatoo or even a
macaw. It's a big
undertaking
and their situation may not
be the right one for the
bird. We have
provided for such birds with
a comfortable home and
proper health care
